Morton Movers

Melton in Motion

Based at the Taylors Hill Community Centre

Corner of Calder Park Drive and Omarama Way, Taylors Hill 3037

Wednesdays: 10.00am to 3.00pm

The “Morton Movers” program is a weekly social group for people who are over 18, high functioning, low support needs and independent in regards to personal care support requirements.

 

The centre based program runs on Wednesdays, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm including Gateway’s door to door Community Transport.  The program focuses on inclusion and social interaction, through the sharing of morning tea, a structured exercise program which is designed to support all capabilities and a light lunch.

 

Where time permits an afternoon activity may be included. Examples of the variety of activities are, technology (IPad) game days, guest speakers, walks, team activities, music and singing etc.  

 

The program is conducted by qualified staff and has the support of many trained volunteers.

 

Gateway Community transport has been designed to encourage people with mobility concerns to continue being active.  All vehicles have been modified with support rails to ensure their needs are well supported. Gateway Community Transport is unable to support last minute changes to collection and drop off points.  Any alternate arrangements must be communicated with staff prior to the program to determine if possible.

The program provides members with opportunities to be both physically and socially active whilst undertaking meaningful skill based activities.

“Melton in Motion” focuses on “activities for seniors”.  It's all about building friendships whilst attending great events, venues and eateries in and around Melbourne.

                                                                      

“Melton in Motion” is Gateway Community Service’s newest program for people with low level support needs who are on a home Care Package that wish to keep socially and physically active.

A great way to stay engaged with people in the community.

The program is conducted by qualified staff and has the support of many trained volunteers.
